About Me
Well, here you are. The meat and potatoes. The "About Me" page.

Some corporate sites are nothing but very expensive "About Me" pages for the management.

I'm... well, a bit of an obsessive lexiphiliac. It has less impact on my daily life (alas), but I'm also obsessed about the ocean. In keeping with tradition, I've made an URL list of people I know (of). I play Go. Many people ask if I'm any good. The answer is - compared to whom? I've won against some very very strong players, I've also lost against some relative beginners. As with anyone, I have a lot to learn. I'm also an amateur photographer. Here are some photographs, both of and by me.

Since I live in Portland, and I'm not too fond of umbrellas, I wear a hat.

"A noble experiment in good taste." Was a phrase coined to describe me by my friend Nikki Gustas in college. Kind of says it all, don't you think?

Here's my bio from the MovieMatch site, with links added, since we couldn't link out from web sites we design. (If you think that's bad, our management once tried to prohibit anyone from linking to our sites.) We were all asked to specify our favorite snacks and movies. I've since compiled a (somewhat) more complete list.

Glenn Peters, Webmaster
Glenn strenuously denies all claims that his birth in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, was in any way related with any alien sightings at that time. Since hatching, he's moved north, first to Connecticut, then Massachusetts. His family continued on to Maine, but he took a sharp left to Portland (via Hampshire College) to start making feature films. He briefly founded an early webzine called "Convergence" about new media and technology. Fate beckoned, and he came to work for CMC -- mostly to pay the bills on his cyclopean glow-in-the-dark collection. When not at work, he competes with his cat, Ace, for hits on their respective web pages. His favorite movies include: "Brazil", "Robocop", "Citizen Kane", "Jaws", "Drunken Master II", "The Muppet Movie", "Unforgiven", "Hard Boiled", "Lawrence of Arabia", and "Akira" -- to name but a few. He does not snack, blink, or breathe when watching movies.

About "Ænigma"
Well, I needed a relatively unique, simple, and easily abbreviated name for the net. The word "enigma" had always been a favorite of mine; I was on a archaic kick at the time, and wanted something a bit more unique... hence, "AEnigma". The "Æ" is ostensibly one letter, a ligature combining "A" and "E", as you might see in "Caesar". More people spell this wrong than they do my real name, which is frustrating. (Most people tend to spell my name with one "n", although I've verified that there are actually more "Glenn"s out there than "Glen"s.) "Æ" is pronounced like the "a" in "bad".
